Fireweed
We haven't really had a summer this year--it's been really rainy and not too warm for the most part. We do get a couple of days here and there that are just perfect though! The past few days have been like this. The purple weed in the photo is Fireweed, it's blooming all over Juneau right now!

Apparently it is quite an invasive weed. In Massachusetts it invades the wetlands and drives out the native plants.
